Boca Boat Parade

Being from Canada (more specifically Winterpeg) it's very strange seeing everyone getting in the holiday spirit in their shorts and bathing suits. It's even stranger to see a holiday parade on the water! In the Boca Raton anchorage, we are surrounded by houses with Christmas lights around their palm trees, but there are also boats made up to be like santas sleigh.

The other night there was a boat parade along the ICW, right in front of our anchorage, so we had front row seats! People were seated all along, the city had even set up bleachers for people to watch. While we could see from our boat, we got in the dinghy to get even closer. It was pretty cool, the boats were seriously lit up, playing holiday music, and many dressed up as Santa!

Later it was a party on the water, and Dexter made friends by jumping on people's boat. On one boat, their child actually jumped into our dinghy because he didn't want Dexter to leave! He even agreed to leave his mommy forever and come with us (that threat really backfired on mom!).

All in all, so far I'm enjoying the winter holidays in a warmer climate. Hope you're enjoying your snow and -30 weather Winnipeg!
